Dr. Rhoda Barnes is a dedicated literacy coach and educational psychologist with over six years of experience helping elementary students overcome reading challenges. With a strong background in curriculum development and individualized instruction, she has worked closely with teachers, students, and parents to create effective literacy strategies that foster academic success.
Dr. Barnes previously served as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she engaged students in thought-provoking discussions, developed comprehensive course syllabi, and provided hands-on learning experiences. She also worked as a counselor for Disabled Student Services at the University of California, Santa Barbara, guiding students in academic and career planning while offering essential support for their personal and educational growth.
Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, along with degrees in Special Education and Curriculum Supervision from Delta State University, Mississippi State University, and Jackson State University. Passionate about empowering students through education, Dr. Barnes continues to be a leader in literacy coaching and student development, ensuring every learner has the tools to succeed.
